Site Beton.ng reports that Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana says he feels the Foxes are pricing him out of a dream move to Chelsea after having just one offer turned down this summer.

Wesley Fofana has been gradually becoming frustrated because he learned Leicester wants a large sum of money to sell him.

Now, it has become apparent that Leicester wants more than the £80 million they received when they sold Harry Maguire in 2019.

Chelsea is interested in signing a Free Agent

According to reports, Chelsea is interested in signing free agent Wesley Fofana.

The 21-year-old is currently playing for Leicester City but is reportedly unsettled at the club.

It is believed that the Foxes are asking for too much money for the young defender, which has priced him out of a move to Chelsea.

However, with the Blues desperate for defensive reinforcements, they may be willing to pay over the odds for Fofana.

If they can get a deal done, it would be a coup for the club as they would be signing one of the most promising young defenders in Europe.

The young and talented center-back only wants one thing in life: to play in the Champions League. A chance he hopes will prepare him for the big stage at the World Cup this winter.

His idol, Didier Drogba, played his football with legendary status in Fofana’s hometown of Marseille before coming to London, where he played under scrutiny at Stamford Bridge; so it seems fitting that Fofana join Chelsea now too.

After all, Leicester reportedly told them they would sell them any time they had an offer matching their valuation – which was met twice by the Blues already but yet wasn’t accepted without consideration.

Now he is increasingly frustrated after learning the Foxes want a world-record transfer fee to sell him, we’ve learned from sources close to the negotiations.

The Midlands club is understood to want more than the £80m they sold Harry Maguire for to Manchester United in 2019; considering Fofana to be a better player at his age and with stronger potential.

But Fofana is said to be unhappy with this rationale due to the differences between them and their careers so far.

At the time of his transfer, Maguire was already an established player in both the English national team and Manchester United.

By contrast, Fofana was far younger than Maguire (26 vs 22) and less experienced (3 years vs 5) with only one complete Premier League season before suffering a serious injury that kept him out until 2021-22.

Uncertainty lingers, but Fofana plans to keep it professional by giving everything he has to Leicester City.

He still has five years left on his contract with the club. In both of Leicester’s first two games this season, Fofana played the full 90 minutes and was present at training sessions.

But the 21-year-old wants the soccer club to be more reasonable in its valuation of him, rather than standing in the way of his dream of playing for Chelsea FC—like Didier Drogba once did—in a European Cup competition.

After Saturday’s loss at Arsenal, manager Brendan Rogers made clear that Leicester is not interested in selling Fofana because he sees him as a valuable asset—someone who can offer something special for a long time yet.

Rogers said: Naturally if there’s interest from another club then that will be looked at by us.

It’s no secret that Wesley Fofana wants to leave Leicester City.

The highly-rated young defender has been linked with a move to Chelsea, and it’s clear that he would jump at the chance to join the Blues.

However, Leicester has slapped an £80m price tag on his head – more than double what they paid for him – and it seems unlikely that anyone will meet their valuation.

Unless there is a dramatic change in circumstances, Fofana looks set to stay put at Leicester until next summer when his contract expires.
