Agba Jalingo, a Nigerian activist and the publisher of Cross-River Watch, has raised an alarm over an alleged threat to his life, his wife’s and their daughter’s as well.

The journalist alerted the public in a series of posts on his Facebook page on Friday.

In his first post, he wrote, “Policemen have surrounded my house”. An hour later, he posted, “I don’t know who sent them, but my house has been surrounded by police. They have held my wife and my daughter hostage downstairs. I don’t feel safe”.

Again, he wrote; “I suspect they still came from Cross River, but they are claiming they are from Alapere police station in Lagos.

“I have information that the police were sent from Abuja and the command CP is aware. I don’t know what I have done again, but I am afraid for my life.

“They are sent by Franko Ayade (the younger brother of Governor Ben Ayade). They are trying to force their way in right now” he added.

Jalingo was acquitted and discharged after a 30-month marathon trial for terrorism, treasonable felony, and cybercrime charges. He was also awarded N30 million compensation by the ECOWAS Court of Justice in Abuja.
