A former Commissioner for in Rivers, Dr Leloonu Nwibubasa, has alleged that Governor Nyesom Wike led state government is planning to arrest him ad seal off his hospital on a trump claim of treating cultists because of his support for the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.

But Nwibubasa, an ally of Senator Lee Maeba who has also fallen out with Wike because of his support for Atiku, insisted that the threats cannot stop him from exercising his freedom of association.

He also narrated how the Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Thomas Bariere, allegedly sent thugs to invade a pro-Atiku meeting that was held at a private facility belonging to the Senator Lee Maeba on Sunday.

The meeting was organized by National Mandate Group, was disrupted on Sunday in Bori by thugs associated with the Khana Local Government Chairman, Dr Thomas Bariere.

But he said the thugs led by the Chairman of PDP Khana local government area, Lenebari Inaania invaded the facility opposite the Divisional Police Station in Bori, headquarter of Khana local government over claim that it is being used as as a hideout for criminals.

Inaania allegedly said that he was directed by the Council Boss to stop the meeting because its agenda of ‘mobilising the grassroots for Atiku’ is offensive to the leadership of the PDP in the state.

At the time of filing this report, the Rivers State Police Command was yet to comment on the claim that Senator Lee Meaba Diabetic Foundation building was serving as a hideout for criminals.
