Kofi who is currently signed to Red Bull Records has quietly morphed from humble beginnings in Scarborough, Toronto to college volleyball superstar to culture-shifting singer, rapper, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, absorbing the lessons, wisdom, and skills from each phase.
Ghanaian-Canadian artist, Daenan ‘Kofi ’Gyimah popularly known as Kofi has released a remix EP for his fan-favorite single, “On Me”, from his latest album, “Why Not?”.
The Toronto based rapper, singer and record producer of Ghanaian descent, employed the services of Nigerian singer, Peruzzi, Nigerian super-producer KDDO, Afrojack protégé DISTO, SORENA, and South African producer Yumbs in the EP.
The EP features four new remixes of the afrobeats-inspired original, including a track with Afrojack protégé DISTO, a two-step into retrofuturism with SORENA, and an amapiano mix with multi-platinum South African producer Yumbs.
For the fourth remix, Kofi tapped one of his favorites, Nigerian super-producer KDDO, who helped usher in the international breakthrough of afrobeats with Davido’s hit single “Fall”. The jazzy mix also features a fiery verse from Nigerian rapper/singer Peruzzi.

On September 11th, Kofi will perform the remix live in Lagos at the Red Bull Dance Your Style Nigeria National Finals.
Following the release of the remixes, Kofi has no plans to slow down and will drop the first single from his forthcoming EP in late September.
