Winner of the Hennesy artistry 2022 VS class, Bennett Obeya popularly known as “PDSTRN” seeks to break into the mainstream market with the release of his two-track single ‘THE PROLOGUE”.
In the last few months, PDSTRN, has been able to cement his reputation as a phenomenal Hip-Hop artiste both on and off social media after emerging as the winner of this year’s edition of the Hennessy Artistry VS Class VIII.
Not content with being known for one musical style/genre, with his debut single, PDSTRN seeks to showcase the versatility in his artistry and his genre-bending capabilities. The single pack, which contains two tracks [PRELUDE and NO HOME TRAINING], is the perfect introduction of a new act into the mainstream market. With this project, PDSTRN gives his Hip-Hop audience a boon with ‘PRELUDE’ while pushing himself as a multi-genre artist to a more commercial audience with the second track ‘NO HOME TRAINING’.
Though the first track serves as a reminder of the genre he is known for in the industry, the star of this project is the second, NO HOME TRAINING. The infectious song is a perfect blend of multiple genres and can be described as an Afro-Dancehall track with a hint of Hip-Hop sprinkled all around it.
Just like the tracks, the cover art accompanying THE PROLOGUE, designed by the immensely talented artist Titø, is a visual representation of PDSTRN’s message. It successfully interprets the lyrical composition of both tracks and the reactions they hope to inspire.
With the aid of his incredible producers, Noah Airè, who also doubled as the project’s mix and master engineer, and Nauty., PDSTRN uses his music to emphasise his multicultural roots while reinforcing his reputation as one artiste to watch.
THE PROLOGUE undoubtedly conveys the unsnspoken Number 1 rule of the summer; forget all manners and lose your home training.
