A middle aged man who confessed to killing of one Kehinde Ajayi, his friend, and secretly burying him after dispossessing him of his new car has been arrested by the police in Kogi.

It was gathered that the offence was committed in Felele area of Lokoja, Kogi state capital on Sunday, 23 July, 2022.

That day, the culprit lured his victim to a destination in the guise of congratulating him over the acquisition of a new Sienna bus.

A source conversant with the story explained that the suspect, an Air Conditioner Technician invited the vehicle owner at about 10am ostensibly to rejoice with him and ‘wash’ the vehicle.

Unknown to the victim, his friend had other motives.

The late Kehinde honoured the invitation of his friend to celebrate his new vehicle, but sadly, he did return and has never been seen since then. The matter was reported to the police.

When Kehinde’s famiy reported the case of the missing person an investigation was launched and the suspect was arrested.

He later gave account of how Kehinde was killed and his vehicle taken away to the police.

It was gathered that on Monday this week, he took the policemen to his house where he allegedly buried the body of Kehinde.

However, some angry youths who were around when police recovered the body attacked the house of the suspect, condemning his wickedness and betrayal of the innocent friend.

The State Police Public Relation Officer, SP William Ayah confirmed the incident.

He said the corpse have been recovered. He said investigators are fully on the matter. He assured that any one found complicit in the crime will be brought to book.
