Pastor Lanre-Oke launches “Operation Feed the Poor” in Abuja

Jesus Praise Evangelical Ministries International (JPEMI) on Sunday began “Operation Feed the Poor” in Abuja to help the poor in the community.

Through the programme, JPEMI is targeting feeding at least 100 people every Sunday.

At a church service to flag off the programme, the General Overseer JPEMI, Dr Femi Lanre-Oke, said that there was a need for individuals and groups to identify problems in the society and work to provide solutions to them.

Lanre-Oke said that it was also necessary for individuals to understand their callings and apply them to solving societal problems.

“If I am a solution to a problem and you are a solution to a problem, let’s identify problems and be available to solve them,” he said.

According to Lanre-Oke, the Word of God is the motivation behind the programme.

He noted that the Word of God encouraged giving to the poor which, he said, connoted giving to God.

“This is our own little to way to contribute to our society.

“We also give scholarships to children who are unable to pay their school fees, ” he said.

Lanre-Oke advised Nigerians against giving up on their dreams.

He said that God had given man the ability to overcome challenges.

“We should see how we can build ourselves and be a better version of ourselves and then contribute our own quotas, ” he said.
