The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has lauded the launch of citizen-based Presidential Delivery Tracks (PDT) and Central Delivery Coordinating Unit (CDCU) websites.
According to BMO, the initiative is a further reflection of the transparency of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
This is contained in a statement signed by its Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke on Tuesday.
With the tracking websites, any interested Nigerian can easily track government projects across the country.
“It is a fact that in the last two years, the Buhari administration had through the PDT/CDCU initiatives provided a platform for its expenditure and projects to be tracked in real-time as part of efforts to ensure effective service delivery and public accountability.
“And to underline its readiness to open itself to public scrutiny, the government has gone a step further by introducing a co-creation platform that aims to increase citizens’ access to presidential priority policies, programmes and projects.
“We see it as a good move by an administration which has nothing to hide as far as project implementation and delivery is concerned, and is constantly prepared to show that it has done far more than many people have given it credit for.
“So rather than for a section of the public to continue to hold on to their skewed position on the performance of the Buhari administration, we invite them and other Nigerians to take advantage of the window of opportunities and see for themselves.
“The website also provides an opportunity for members of the public to provide vital information that will facilitate effective service delivery on any project they are privy to in their respective domains.
“We see this as a realization by the government of the place of feedback in project delivery rather than the one-way communication mechanism that past administrations are known for,” the group added.
