UK’s Prime Minister, Liz Truss has reacted to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, saying it is a day of great loss.
Elizabeth, British’s longest-reigning monarch died on Thursday at the age of 96 at her Balmoral Castle. She had been on the throne for 70 years.
Truss, in a statement said the Queen was the rock on which modern Britai was built as the kingdom had grown and flourished under her reign.
She said in the difficult days ahead, her life would be celebrated.
She wrote: “Queen Elizabeth II was the rock on which modern Britain was built. Our country has grown and flourished under her reign.
“In the difficult days ahead, we will come together with our friends across the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the world to celebrate her extra-ordinary lifetime of service.
“It is a day of great loss, but Queen Elizabeth II leaves a great legacy. God save the King.”
