The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ogun State, Olufemi Ajadi, has commiserated with the British people over the death of their monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.
Ajadi in a message of condolence said her passage was indeed a loss not just to the British people but to all friends of the British globally.
He said Nigeria and Britain shared a lot in common that predated independence, describing the late Queen Elizabeth II as a revered icon who would surely be missed all over the world.
Ajadi particularly prayed to God to give the new King of England, Charles III, and the entire UK Royal Family, the fortitude to bear the loss.
According to him, the late queen played a great role in the positioning of the royal family globally, making her occupy a special place in British history.
“In life and death, there’s so much to learn from Queen Elizabeth who dedicated all her life to serving humanity.
“Her roles and relevance went beyond the UK as she was well versed in global politics and also in monarchical traditions”, she said.
The NNPP chieftain noted that the Queen would always be remembered for her role in ensuring the United Kingdom maintained a very good relationship with other parts of the world and that her visit to Nigeria in 1956 showed how much she treasured British-Nigeria diplomatic relations.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the new King, Charles III, the entire Royal Family, and the British people.
May the soul of Her Majesty rest in eternal peace, Amen”, Ajadi prayed
