Labour Party has rubbished reports on the defection of its Lagos State Chairman, Mr. Olukayode Salako.

Some online media on Thursday reported that the LP chairman in Lagos state had defected to another party.

However, Bunmi Adesanya who is the spokesman of the party in Lagos told NAN on Monday that the party chairman had not joined another party.

She said: “We are surprised to see this news Thursday. It is fake, it is not true at all.

“Our chairman is on ground and he is fully obidient.”

The Lagos Labour Party has been experiencing a crisis following the governorship primaries.

Prof. Ifagbemi Awamaridi and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP are both claiming to be the flag bearer.
