Lagos man Sunday Zabadi docked for stealing necklaces worth N8.9m

A 48-year-old man, Sunday Zabadi, who allegedly stole a parcel containing diamond and gold chains worth N8.9 million, was on Tuesday brought before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The defendant appeared on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, ASP Rita Momah, said that the defendant committed the offences on July 7 about 9.30 p.m., at Cement Bus Stop, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos State.

She said that the defendant stole and converted to his personal use, the parcel belonging to one Mr Temitope Badiru.

The alleged offences contravene Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Miss Adeola Adedayo, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of one million Naira with two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Oct. 5 for mention. (NAN)
