The governorship candidate under the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP) in Ogun, Olufemi Ajadi, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo, Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, on Wednesday.
Ajadi went on the visit with his team to receive a royal blessing over his governorship ambition.
He was accompanied by the state chairman of the party, Comrade Olaposi Sunday Oginni, and the Ogun East Senatorial candidate, Wasiu Oluwafemi Ajirotutu.
While receiving the governorship candidate and the other party leaders, Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba applauded the courage of the candidate as he felt that only a determined candidate could politically challenge an incumbent government.
His royal Highness reminded Ajadi of the fact that there are many candidates from different political parties, adding that only Almighty God would say who would emerge the eventual winner.
“As King, I can only pray for you and grant you my blessing. So, I wish you the best of luck in your governorship ambition,” he said.
While thanking Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba and the chiefs at the palace for their warmth and hospitality, the state chairman of the party, Olaposi Oginni, said Ajadi was in the palace to receive the blessing of the Royal Highness and also seek fatherly advice.
“We shall be visiting you officially when the political campaign starts in October but we thank you and the chiefs for giving us a warmly welcoming hospitality,” he said.
