Oke-Osanyintolu on resumption at Youth and Social Development

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mrs. Zeinab Oluwatoyin Oke-Osanyintolu has enjoined the staff of the Ministry to be proactive in their approach to social issues affecting the society.

She gave the charge during her first meeting with Staff of the Ministry upon assumption of office as the new Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth and Social Development.

She affirmed that the State Government has been doing a lot in terms of tackling social issues affecting our society in diverse areas, adding that there is need for social workers of the Ministry to be more proactive in their approach.

In her words, “By being proactive, many issues could be nipped in the bud ever before they snowball into intractable problems that would require more efforts, time and resources to tackle. In fact, research has shown that the best time to tackle a problem is at its infancy before it gets out of hand.”

Soliciting the co-operation of all and sundry in the Ministry, Oke-Osanyintolu said, “I need the support of everyone of you. I cannot do it alone. My door is open for valuable suggestions and constructive criticisms that will help the Ministry in its efforts to translate the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda of Mr Governor to realities.”

Oke-Osanyintolu, a Masters Degree in Bio-pharmacy from Kings College, University of London, joined the Lagos State Public Service as a Principal Pharmacist at the then General Hospital, Ikeja on the 5th June,2000.

She had served in many critical areas such as Emergency Committee of LASUTH, Critical Care Unit and Health Liaison Unit amongst others before her deployment to Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and her appointment as Permanent Secretary.
