Friday, 23rd September, 2022 was a day tears freely rolled down from the eyes of several residents of Ruwan Jema town in Bukkuyum Local Government Area, LGA of Zamfara State.

That day, not less than 15 worshippers were killed by gunmen inside a Mosque.

The people were part of the congregation who gathered in the Mosque for Jumaat service.

The prayers were underway when terrorists reportedly invaded their midst and randomly pumped hot lead into the worshippers.

A source said “The terrorists, who rode on motorcycles invaded the mosque and opened fire on worshippers, leading to the death of 15 people on the spot, while many other victims sustained various degrees of injuries.”

This is coming as the Nigerian military launches massive bombardment of identified hideouts of the terrorists in Zamfara State.

Zamfara, in Nigeria’s Northwest is among the worst hit by insecurity in the country.

Banditry, kidnapping and terrorism have been daily occurrences in the state for many years.
