The Kremlin has rejected accusations that it is responsible for leaks in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines.
Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, clarified on Wednesday.
According to him, “it is quite predictable and predictably stupid and absurd to make such assumptions.”
Peskov said that it was necessary to wait for investigations into the leaks and to determine whether it had been an explosion or not.
The situation requires “dialogue and operational cooperation of all sides” to clarify the cause of the leaks. At the moment, we see an absolute lack of such a dialogue.’’
Peskov said it was not in Russia’s interest for gas flows through the pipelines to stop. He said both lines of Nord Stream 2 are filled with gas.
“This gas costs a lot of money, and now it is escaping into the air.
