Ogun State Chapter of the Indigenous Movie Makers Association of Nigeria, IMMAN, has pledged to support Olufemi Ajadi in his bid to become the governor of the state in 2023.
The group also announced the appointment of the NNPP candidate as its grand patron.
The President of IMMAN, Sunday Isaac, said that the association is a group of talented Nigerians who have been propagating the pride of the state through entertainment.
He added that the executive of the association and more than two thousand members had met and agreed to vote for Ajadi in the 2023 governorship election.
“Our organization that has been known for moral values educator and cultural integration of the state would be propagating your political ministry to make your 2023 vision a realistic one,” he said.
The chairman Board of Trustees of the association, Adeleke Egberongbe, said he had not been practicing partisan politics, adding that, however, the love he has for the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, would make him vote for Ajadi as the next governor of Ogun State.
He said, “The word ‘New’ in the name of the party, New Nigeria People’s Party, has made me believe that we are achieving a new Nigeria soon through the new faces with genuine minds.”
“I am assuring you that with your financial support, we are producing a movie title: ‘Ajadi-Iko’ to support your governorship race by distributing copies among the people of Ogun State,” he said.
While acknowledging the given position as the patron of IMMAN, Ajadi said that he was grateful to the party chairman, Sunday Olaposi Oginni, that saw potential in him and invited him to contest for the position of the state governor.
He added that IMMAN would be recognized by the government of Ogun State for its cultural heritage if NNPP emerged as the winner in the 2023 gubernatorial election.
“May Almighty God bless NNPP, bless IMMAN, and bless the entire electorates of Ogun State,” he said.
