The governorship candidate on the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party in Ogun State, Olufemi Ajadi, has joined the Muslims to mark the 2022 Eid-ul-Mawlid Celebration in commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.
While addressing journalists at his office in Abeokuta on Saturday, October 8, Ajadi enjoined Nigerians to embrace the spirit of peaceful coexistence and desist from political and religious fanatism.
He said all prophets including Prophet Muhammad were sent to the world by Almighty God to be role models for mankind in good character, reiterating that Nigerians should imbibe the moral of tolerance irrespective of their religious differences.
He congratulated all Muslims from Ogun State and those in the diaspora for witnessing this year’s occasion, adding that it is high time they worked for the better integration of Ogun State.
“We should all be in civil activities while enjoying the holiday declared by the Federal Government, Monday, October 10, but we should all have in mind that Ogun State could only change for better if we engage in our civil rights judiciously in 2023.
“Once again, I wish all my people from Ogun State and other Nigerians as well a happy Mawlud Nobiyy Celebration,” he said.
