Police operatives in Nasarawa have arrested a girl in Mararaba community of the state for stabbing his lover dead during a fisticuffs behind a popular hotel in the area.
DSP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer for Nasarawa State said the incident happened early Wednesday morning at the popular City Rock Hotel.
According to him, the girl, whose name he did not mention was engaged in fisticuffs with his lover as a result of a misunderstanding when she stabbed him to death.
The police spokesperson added that the girl has bee arrested and the knife used in perpetrating the offence has been recovered.
He added that the suspect has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia, the state capital for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident happened behind City Rock Hotel, Mararaba at about 0330hrs when the deceased and his girlfriend engaged themselves in fisticuffs as a result of a misunderstanding.
Hence, the suspect was arrested and the knife used in perpetrating the offence was consequently recovered based on the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi.
The suspect has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.
