Mohamed Salah scored the only goal of the match as Liverpool beat Manchester City by a lone goal on Sunday at Anfield.

The defeat is the only blemish for City so far this season.

Salah struck on 76th minute after a barren first half.

He wove his way past opponents, and unleashed a magnificent effort from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner, with Ederson having no chance of reaching it.

Earlier, Diogo Jota received a lofted pass on 21st minute and is given time inside the box to unleash a low shot goalwards.

The ball was directed towards the middle of the goal, but it lacked power and Ederson pulled off a comfortable save to thwart the effort.

On 51st minute, Ederson had a great save. Salah swirled around the defenders and attempted to beat the keeper with a close-range shot towards the bottom left corner, but failed.
Phil Foden the ball in the net for City two minutes later, but it was disallowed due to a foul.
Erling Haaland  beat his marker on 64th minute and unleashed a thunderbolt of a shot from the edge of the box. Alisson saw the ball late but did well to stop it going into the bottom left corner.
