The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said its operatives have five suspects who were vandalising a transformer in the Pambegua area of Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

Mr Idris Adah, the state NSCDC commandant, stated this at a news briefing on Friday in Kaduna.

Adah said the suspects were arrested on Sept 23, during a routine patrol in the area.

According to him, the suspects confessed to vandalising a transformer at Pambegua General Hospital and stealing armoured cables of another transformer before they were nabbed.

“They also confessed to having been involved in vandalising street lights and solar panels in Pambegau and its environs.

He noted that items recovered from the suspects included high-tension and armoured cables, street lights and solar panels.

Some of their accomplices who were still at large were being hunted, according to Adah.

“We will get them in no time so that they can also face the full wrath of the law,” the NSCDC boss vowed.

Adah said that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of ongoing discreet investigation.

“I want to warn all those involved in any form of crime to desist from it, because the long hand of the law will soon catch up with them, “Adah said.
