Police hunt for driver who mowed down Ibadan woman Abimbola Uthman

Operatives of Nigeria Police in Ibadan, Oyo State, have launched a manhunt for a driver who allegedly mowed down 48-year-old woman, Mrs Abimbola Uthman with his car following an argument and ran away.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the man allegedly hit the woman’s car at the back and when she went out of the car to protest, the man warned her to move aside or he would drive over her.

When she refused to budge, the driver allegedly mowed down the woman and drove off.

Mrs Uthman was said to have died from the incident said to have occurred on Oct. 14 at Ojo area of Ibadan.

Oyo Police Command Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, however told NAN in a text message that the police were hunting for the suspect.

“Investigation has commenced. Updates would be provided accordingly, please,” Osifeso said.
