Nigeria’s secret police, the Department of State Services (DSS) has described reports that its operatives carried out a joint operation with United States’ soldiers in an estate in Abuja as false.

Some reports had indicated that following recent advisories by the United States and other foreign embassies in Nigeria, DSS operatives had in a joint operation with US troop conducted an operation at Trademore Estate, Abuja were two alleged terror suspects were arrested.

The media reports quoted the chairman of the estate as confirming the operation by the DSS and the U.S soldiers.

But while confirming the the operation, PR Nigeria quoted the spokesperson of DSS, Dr. Peter Afunanya, said it was carried out alongside sister agencies and not with US troops.

“I can categorically tell you that we did not carry out any joint operation with American Soldiers as being widely reported in the media.

“Though we carried out an operation in an Abuja Estate with sister agencies, no foreign troops were involved,” he said.
