An Abuja-based senior lawyer, Adamson Adeboro on Sunday hinted at how the public can identify and apprehend a fake lawyer.
Adeboro, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, condemned the practice of law by fake lawyers and urged the public to report perpetrators.
He said the public can easily identify a fake lawyer if vigilant.
“If you live in a particular environment and suddenly somebody becomes a lawyer and you know that he never went to the four walls of a classroom, report such person to appropriate authorities,” he advised.
Adeboro added that the responsibility of reporting fake lawyers to be apprehended is on all members of society and not on NBA alone.
Adeboro commended the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for apprehending fake lawyers adding that the association had tried its best.
“However, NBA is not omnipotent or omnipresent, we need people’s assistance.
“There must be synergy amongst lawyers, the society and the people generally on how to apprehend fake lawyers”, he concluded.
