Activists launch movement, honour Tinubu with unique award

Civil society and human rights activists in conjunction with the Grand Council of Yoruba Youths recently converged in the Banquet Hall of Oyo State APC Secretariat, Oke-Ado, Ibadan where a movement, the Coalition For A Better Nigeria- Tinubu is a Goal! was launched.

The activists used the occasion to bestow the ‘Africa’s Man of the Century Odu’a Award’ to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The event also witnessed endorsements of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun and Senator Teslim Folarin, the APC gubernatorial candidates of Lagos, Ogun and Oyo States, respectively.

According to the President, Grand Council of Yoruba Youths, Awa Bamiji in a statement sent to P.M.NEWS, the groups were happy to honour Tinubu.

“We are happy to honour one of the major pillars of the democracy movement in Nigeria, a builder of people, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on this occasion.

“We have since joined forces with other ethnic and Civil Society groups across Nigeria, in the universally celebrated advocacy, “2023: TINUBU IS A GOAL!”, under the aegis of COALITION FOR A BETTER NIGERIA, projecting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2023 President.

“Preparations are now in serious gear across all states of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to stage FEBRUARY 14 NIGERIAN YOUTHS 4 TINUBU in Abuja, with the aim of extending the NIGERIAN YOUTHS’ undying love for Valentine’s day to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2023 Presidential ambition”, Awa Bamiji said.

He also hinted at a plan to present Tinubu with a GRAND COMMANDER OF AFRICAN POLITICS award and a “beautifully carved statue of Tinubu playing a football match as Captain of African Football Team in Politics.

All these, he said, were planned “in genuine appreciation of Tinubu’s long-time contributions to human capacity development, politics, and businesses in the continent of Africa.

“Notable Political Leaders in and outside Nigeria have indicated their keen interest in this historic project which is going to be the first of its kind in politics globally.

“All Nigerians in Diaspora who have the plan to come home in February and vote have found the date of the event very convenient. They are also looking forward to mingling with their colleagues here in Nigeria”, Awa said.
