Celebrated project and process management expert, Ayodele Akinpelu, has been honoured with the 2022 Founders Award for Service Delivery Excellence by the Business Process Management Institute (BPMI), Nigeria.

The award recognizes her outstanding contributions to BPM practice and her leadership in strengthening organizational governance systems across the public and private sectors.

Akinpelu, a Fellow of BPMI, has spent more than a decade championing workflow redesign, policy alignment, and high-impact project execution in top organisations in Nigeria.

Her award citation highlighted her pioneering work in integrating BPM principles into public service frameworks during her tenure at the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology in Osun State.

As Chairman of BPMI’s Membership and Examination Committee in 2022, Akinpelu led initiatives that streamlined professional certification processes, enhanced examination integrity, and established new professional development pathways for emerging business analysts and project officers.

Her international work also drew commendation. Colleagues praised her execution of digital transformation projects, particularly her contributions to service delivery optimization at multinational organisations.

In her acceptance remarks, Akinpelu dedicated the award to “professionals who work behind the scenes to make public services more humane, efficient, and equitable.”

Industry stakeholders described her recognition as timely, noting her continued influence on PMO setup, performance management design, and procurement process optimization across government and private institutions.
