Governor Seyi Makinde has reiterated the commitment of his administration toward the economic development of the state through agribusiness.

Makinde assured during an inspection tour of the state’s Agro-Industrial Estate project in Fashola Village, Oyo West Local Government Area.

The governor was conducted around the projects by Dr Debo Akande, the Director-General, of Oyo State Agribusiness
Development Agency (OYSADA).

He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done so far at the farm, saying that the estate was becoming a success.

The governor promised to provide more incentives and support to the project’s contractor in order for it to be completed on time.

He hinted that the farm estate, which houses Fan Milk’s dedicated crops and livestock production facilities, will produce processed farm products by 2023.

Makinde went on to say that when the farm estate projects are completed, they will play a significant role in lowering the cost of farm produce in the state.

According to him, it will also attract food buyers from other states.

He promised that all Youth Entrepreneurship Agribusiness Programme (YEAP) recipients, particularly those on the farm estate, would be fully supported in achieving their goals.

Farmhouses, farmer lodges, machinery service centers, and roads were among the ongoing projects that were inspected.

Other facilities planned for the estate include research and innovation centers, processing facilities, agricultural equipment leasing facilities, cold-chain and storage facilities, packaging facilities, distribution and export facilities, and a sprawling residential area.
