Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP and former vice-president of Nigeria, has congratulated the Emir of Ilorin Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on his 27th coronation anniversary.
Atiku, in a statement he personally authored on Friday, said the Emir has continued to ensure peaceful coexistence amongst the ethnic nationalities resident in the Ilorin Emirate Council.
He prayed that God continues to enrich him with strength, wisdom, and good health.
The statement by Atiku reads: “I rejoice with the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on his 27th coronation anniversary.
“As a revered monarch, who has continued to ensure peaceful coexistence amongst the ethnic nationalities resident in the Ilorin Emirate Council, I congratulate him on this special coronation anniversary and pray for Allah to continue to enrich him with strength, wisdom, and good health.”
Sulu-Gambari is the 11th and current Emir of Ilorin.
He ascended to the throne in 1995 succeeding his uncle Aliyu Dan Abdulkadir.
He is also the Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council.
The Emir is one of the 10 prominent traditional rulers in northern Nigeria.
