Foundation to empower widows in Abuja community

According to the Managing Director of the REF, Mrs. Victoria Onu, the foundation is committed to alleviating the sufferings of the vulnerable in Nigeria.

The Rodel Empowerment Foundation will on Saturday give cash gifts to selected widows in Bwari area of the Federal Capital Territory.

The programme, The Widows’ Empowerment Project”, is themed “Make the Widows Smile 2022”.

According to the Managing Director of the REF, Mrs. Victoria Onu, the foundation is committed to alleviating the sufferings of the vulnerable in Nigeria.

“Rodel Empowerment Foundation is a non-governmental organisation committed to alleviating the sufferings of the vulnerable people in Nigeria. We are also committed to a pragmatic intervention in the plight of downtrodden,” she said.

About the Widows Empowerment Project, Onu said, “Our goal is to select widows on the lowest rung of the social ladder in Bwari, Abuja. These women are indigent and may have been neglected by the society.

“Ours is to put wide smiles on their faces with the cash gifts. We hope that some could use the funds to start a petty trade or commit into things that would make life easier for themselves”.
