Police rescue 6 women, child abducted by terrorist in Zamfara

The 6 women abducted by terrorists at Kadamutsa village of Zurmi LGA of Zamfara State after their rescue by police and vigilante operatives  

Police operatives working with local vigilantes have rescued 6 women and a one- year- old child abducted by terrorists at Kadamutsa village of Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State last Thursday.  

The abducted villagers were rescued in a search and rescue operation conducted along Zurmi – Jibiya axis unhurt and unconditionally, SP Mohammed Shehu, the spokesperson for Zamfara Police Command said in a statement. 

He added that the rescued victims were taken to the hospital for medical check, debriefed by the Police detectives and handed over their families. 

He said, “Today being 25th November 2022, Police Tactical Operatives in collaboration with Vigilante acted on intelligence information regarding the abduction of Six (6) women and a 1 year old child by bandits terrorist at Kadamutsa village of Zurmi LGA on 24th November, 2022.

“The Police operatives mobilized to the location where a search and rescue operation was conducted along Zurmi – Jibiya axis, leading to the unconditional rescue of all the victims unhurt. 

“The victims were taken to the hospital for medical check, debriefed by the Police detectives and handed over their families. 

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf psc, while commending the Police operatives and vigilante for the successful rescue operation, congratulates the victims for regaining their freedom, and reiterates the Command’s continuous determination to rid the state of criminal activities and apprehend criminal elements committing heinous crimes across the state”
