Kalidou Koulibaly celebrates his goal for Senegal

The Teranga Lions of Senegal on Tuesday qualified for the Round of 16 after beating Ecuador 2-1 in their last match of Group A.

Senegal qualified with six points and second in the group after Netherlands, who beat Qatar 2-0 to amass seven points.

Ismaila Sarr converted from the penalty spot on 44th minute to open scoring for the African side.

Ecuador equalised on 67th minute. A resulting corner was whipped into the box and Moises Caicedo buried the ball into the back of the net from a Felix Torres knock down.

Three minutes later Kalidou Koulibaly scored the winning goal for Senegal. He was in the right place at the right time to get to the rebound inside the box and gleefully rifled the ball into the left side of the goal.

On 83rd minute, Boulaye Dia shot after receiving a good pass. His effort from the edge of the box went just wide off the right post.
Jeremy Sarmiento attempted to score on 90th minute as he rose near the penalty spot and headed the ball to the middle of the goal. Edouard Mendy pulled off a comfortable save to stop the ball from hitting the net.
