Governor Dapo Abiodun has congratulated the state contingent on their medals and service at the National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State.

His commendation is contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin.

The governor stated that Ogun’s five gold medals, as well as two silver and bronze medals, have confirmed the state’s dominance in sporting competitions.

He expressed confidence that Team Ogun would win more medals as it has the prospect of gold in boxing, badminton, gymnastics, para table tennis, deaf athletics, darts, and para powerlifting.

Abiodun urged the team to uphold the Ogun spirit of excellence and standard by continuing to demonstrate the state’s class at the ongoing sports festival.

According to the governor, people back home would be rooting for them to soar at the competitions.

Meanwhile, he urged the contingent to play by the rules of the sporting event, declaring that his administration would give all the necessary support to ensure Ogun finishes at the top of the medal table.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to the development of sports facilities and talents in the state, he said he intends to make Ogun number one in terms of sports in the country.

Furthermore, he charged Team Ogun to continue to make the state proud at the ongoing NSF, without compromising the “Omoluabi” ethos the people of the Gateway State are known for.
