Gunmen abduct two women at Pharmacy at the Apara link road, Off NTA road in Port Harcourt Rivers State on Tuesday December 6.

Eyewitness account said an attendant at the Pharmacy Attendant was one of the victims. He said the second victim was a woman who had brought her child for treatment at the Pharmacy.

The Eyewitness said: “The woman with her child may have been trailed by the kidnappers. Immediately she came down from the car with her son, the two armed hoodlums who parked their SUV (Carton Colour), behind her car grabbed her, the Pharmacist attendant and zoomed off leaving the child behind”.

At the time of filing this report the Rivers State Police Command has not spoken about it.

The incident is happening barely two weeks after gunmen kill three escort Policemen atop the Rumuokoro flyover bridge and kidnapped Seni Awosike, a Business Executive of an oil and gas company in Port Harcourt.

Meanwhile, Enefaa Georgewill, the State Chairman of Rivers State Civil Society Organizations has raised alarm that incidents of kidnapping in Rivers State has been on steady rise.

He called on the new Commissioner of Police,CP Effiong Okon, and the Rivers State Government to activate the use of the recently inaugurated Police Intelligence Centre in the State capital.

It was built and handed over to the the Police by Governor Nyesom Wike on behalf of the Rivers State Government to tackle the rising cases of criminalities in state.
