Ringardas Nigeria Limited has received formal recognition from the Nigerian Ports Authority for its Health, Safety, and Environment best practices in 2022, a distinction that placed the company among operators acknowledged for strengthening safety culture and environmental responsibility within Nigeria’s port system.

The honour, conferred at Delta Ports in Warri, underscored the Authority’s emphasis on responsible operations as a foundation for port competitiveness and sustainable industrial activity.

The award followed an internal assessment by the Nigerian Ports Authority, identifying companies that consistently operate within acceptable safety and environmental standards. Ringardas emerged as one of the organisations recognised for demonstrating a conscientious approach to occupational safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance, qualities increasingly regarded as essential benchmarks in port-related operations.

Remarks delivered by port management during the ceremony noted that Ringardas had distinguished itself through visible adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment protocols, positioning the company at the forefront of HSE promotion within the Delta Ports ecosystem.

The recognition concluded with the presentation of a commemorative plaque to the company’s representative, reinforcing the Authority’s expectation that such standards be sustained over time.

Established in 2005, Ringardas Nigeria Limited operates as a private limited liability company within the oil and gas sector, specialising in the importation, storage, marketing, and distribution of bitumen, bituminous products, and Automotive Gas Oil. From its headquarters on Mamman Nasir Street in Abuja’s Asokoro district, the company has built a national footprint that supports infrastructure development across multiple regions.

Ringardas’ product portfolio includes polymer-modified bitumen and emulsions approved by the Nigerian Ministry of Works, materials critical to modern road construction and performance under Nigeria’s extreme climatic conditions. Its role in supplying these products has positioned the company as a strategic partner in road and infrastructure projects that demand consistency, durability, and technical reliability.

A defining element of Ringardas’ reputation has been its investment in storage terminals across Nigeria’s geo-political zones. This infrastructure significantly reduced historical supply shortages that once disrupted road projects, contributing to improved project planning and execution nationwide while raising expectations for operational discipline within the sector.

With a workforce approaching 200 employees and estimated annual revenues between $11 million and $100 million, Ringardas operates at a scale where safety governance and environmental controls are not optional but central to business continuity. The company’s stated values of integrity, employee engagement, care, and innovation are reflected in its emphasis on safe working environments and responsible handling of petroleum products.

The acquisition of Ringardas by French multinational Rubis Energie in 2015 further strengthened these standards. As part of a group active in more than 30 countries, Ringardas gained access to global expertise in fuel storage and distribution, reinforcing internal systems while maintaining a strong local operating identity.

The company continues to highlight a “Made in Nigeria” philosophy, supported by advanced technology and an internal research and development capability focused on product performance and environmental responsibility. This balance of international best practice and local execution has shaped its operational credibility.

The Nigerian Ports Authority’s 2022 HSE award stands as institutional recognition of Ringardas Nigeria Limited’s consistent approach to safety and environmental stewardship, reinforcing its position as a responsible operator within Nigeria’s energy and infrastructure supply chain.
