Wizkid 'breaches' contract, fails to show up for Ghana show

Wizkid has been accused of breaching his contractual obligation after the Nigerian superstar failed to show up for a concert in Ghana.

The show titled “Wizkid Live” was billed to happen at a 40,000-capacity stadium in Accra on Saturday.

However, Wizkid failed to show up and has yet to give reasons or apologize.

A video shared on social media showed some of his fans leaving the stadium by 4 a.m. after waiting for the Nigerian superstar for over ten hours.

Speaking on the development, the organizers of the show said Wizkid breached his contract.

A statement from LiveHub nation reads;

“Wizkid breached his contractual obligations last night. We sincerely apologised for the inconvenience caused.

“We will issue refunds to all who paid for tickets. Please send your barcode to [email protected].”

Outrage on social media

The no-show by Wizkid has raised loads of reactions on social media with many calling for the arrest of the superstar.

A commentator with name Eniola Daniel said: “When Asake apologized for arriving late at Birmingham for his show, I said he would never apologize in Africa. Now, Wizkid did not show up in Ghana for his show after fans spent over N400k on table. Authorities should arrest these unruly artistes.”

Another commentator wrote: “First, he doesn’t even make good music anymore so they need to arrest every single one of you that waited for 12hrs and have you sent to a psychiatrist.”
