The umbrella body of youths and students’ organisations within and outside Nigeria, COALITION FOR A BETTER NIGERIA is set to bestow the GRAND COMMANDER OF AFRICAN POLITICS SILVER AWARD on the National Leader and Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This information is contained in a press release signed by the coalition’s National Coordinator, Comrade Awa Bamiji which was forwarded to P.M.NEWS on Tuesday.
According to Awa Bamiji, the award plaque will be a statue of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu playing football as the “Captain of African football team politically.”
He said “it is high time the International Community of the Civil Society bestowed honour on whom it is due at this right period, before the 2023 Presidential Election.
“It is on record that the 3rd edition of our National Discourse and the 2019 Pre-Election National Discourse which were held at the Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, and the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, where President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, was represented by Alhaji Abideen Oladimeji, former CPC Chairman, Oyo State, and Dr Adewale Balogun, Executive – Director, Beko Ransome – Kuti Centre for Good Governance (CGG) respectively, witnessed massive turnouts”, adding that he believed the forthcoming edition would pull a bigger crowd.
The event, according to the release, will take place inside the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Wuse, Abuja, on Tuesday, 14th February 2022.
Important dignitaries expected at the event include Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Executive Governor of Kaduna State (who is to chair the ceremony); National Chairman of APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, and Gov. Simon Lalong, the Director – General, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.
President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR is expected to be the Chief Host.
