The Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) sympathised with victims of the military airstrike incident in some communities of Maru Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau by the Secretary, Strategic Coordination of the Council in the state, Dr Mika’ilu Ibrahim.
According to Ibrahim, the APC PCC Coordinator in the state, “Sen. Kabiru Marafa received with shock the news of the damage from military operations leading to deaths and injuries among civilians at Mutunji community of the local government.
“On behalf of the PCC members in the state and teeming APC supporters, I sympathize with the families of the victims and Maru Local Government Council, Dansadau and Maru Emirate Councils and the entire people of the state over the unfortunate incident.
“We extend our condolences to Zamfara Government over the ugly incident.
“While acknowledging the selfless and patriotic effort of the armed forces in flushing the bandits out of the state, we appeal for greater operational diligence and caution to avoid mishaps with such devastating consequences to communities”, Marafa said.
The PCC coordinator also called for an investigation by the military authorities of the particular incident to ensure that there was no negligence of any sort and learn from its lessons and guide future expeditions.
Marafa called on relevant state and Federal Government agencies to provide immediate emergency support to the victims of the airstrike and prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased as well as quick recovery of the injured.
