A candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for House of Representatives in Ogun, Toyin Amuzu, has advised electorates in the state not to sell their votes to politicians ahead of the 2023 general election.
Amuzu, who is contesting for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency seat at the lower Chambers of the National Assembly gave this advice while handing over a borehole project to residents of Isale-Igbehin Barracks Community in the state capital.
He lamented that the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC has inflicted so much suffering on the people without making any effort to reduce the hardship.
He said, “I don’t know if that is due to incompetence or whether it is intentional. This government do not understand they are there to make ways and make things easy for the people with their programmes and policies. But instead they don’t seem to know or care. But I’m sure they will start coming soon with Greek gift after abandoning the people for too long”.
Chief Amuzu who advised the people to reject the ‘Greek gift’ warned that they should not sell their votes or else the sufferings would continue as these set of people would abandon them again.
The residents of Isale-Igbehin Barracks Community described the PDP House of Representatives candidate as a God sent and blessing to Abeokuta South Federal Constituency.
The women coordinator, Mrs Charity Alfred while speaking on behalf of the Barracks Community, thanked the donor for his magnanimity, saying the residents have suffered from water scarcity for too long as the sole borehole in the barracks could not serve them effectively.
She said it was a surprise that the candidate of PDP could take it upon itself to provide the borehole without holding any political position.
The Youth leader in the Community who corroborated her words said while many politicians go about deceiving the people, Amuzu is unique and straight forward.
He assured that the residents would reciprocate the good gesture.
Ogun Central Senatorial candidate of the PDP, Chief Olumide Aderinokun who was joined by the House of Assembly candidates for Constituency 1 and 2, Chief Lukman Atobatele and Idowu Olowofuja respectively, later commissioned and handed over the water project to the Barracks community.
