Fire razes vehicle at Lagos Television premises (Videos, photos)

Fire razed a car parked at the premises of the Lagos Television, Ikeja on Friday, two days to Christmas, as people watched helplessly until the car was completely burnt.

It is suspected that kegs of fuel might have been stored inside the car. The incident started with little smoke which snowballed into serious fire.

Some workers at the television stations ran inside and came out with several large fire extinguishers in a bid to quench the fire.

After emptying about five large fire extinguishers, an explosion was heard inside the car followed by huge balls of fire bellowing the atmosphere.

Cars parked close to the burning vehicle were quickly evacuated, while officials of the Lagos State Fire Services were quickly called.

By the time they arrived the scene, several explosions had been heard as the intensity of the inferno heightened.

The fire which began around 4:40pm was put out about 30 minutes later. The car was completely burnt.
