A middle-aged woman clutching a handbag with huge sums of money slumped and died on Tuesday at about 10pm in Obalende area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

When PM NEWS arrived at the scene at about 10:15pm, she was seen foaming from her mouth and some concerned residents in the area surrounded her body which was lying on the ground with the handbag containing the money to prevent miscreants, popularly called area boys from stealing the bag.

Though the cause of the woman’s death could not be ascertained, eyewitnesses told PM NEWS that she was walking toward the Obalende roundabout to board another vehicle to her house after she alighted from a cab that brought her to Obalende bus stop from Ikoyi where she was said to be selling provisions when she suddenly slumped and died.

A resident later used her handset to call her relatives who arrived at the scene with a Suzuki car to take her corpse away.
