Eight Labour Party candidates for Jigawa House of Assembly in the 2023 election have dumped their party and aspirations for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The Labour Party members who were also member of Arewa Presidential Campaign Council of the party were received into the APC on Friday by Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.

The eight candidates are from Auyo, Kirikasamma, Bulangu, Malam Madori , Kafin Hausa, Birniwa, Guri and Kaugama constituencies of the state, Habibu Nuhu Kila
Special Adviser Media and Public Relations to Governor Badaru said in a statement.

While receiving the Labour Party members, Governor Badaru promised that they will be carried along in all activities of APC in the state.

He also urged them to be loyal to their new party.

Speaking during the ceremony at Government House, Dutse, Mohammed Makinta who was the LP Candidate for Guri constituency said they dumped their former party because they realized that APC is the most credible political party in Nigeria.

He promised to work to for the victory of all the candidates of APC in the forthcoming general election.

While welcoming the new members, Jigawa State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Aminu Sani Gumel assured them that they would be accorded the rights and privileges enjoyed by old members.

He reiterated that as bonafide members of the APC, thy are entitled to all rights and privileges enjoyed by those they met in the party.
