Bimbo Akintola, a Nollywood actress, has urged Nigerians to vote for the presidential candidate of APC, Bola Tinubu, in 2023.
While speaking on TVC on Saturday, the actress described Tinubu as a builder of men.
She recalled how the APC candidate formed a formidable team that lead to the transformation of Lagos.
Akintola said she never liked to share her political views but could not distance herself after she saw how opponents were bullying supporters of Tinubu.
The actress said: “I am with the PCC, I am working for Asiwaju. I am also with CGI which is Connecting Grassroots Initiative. Normally I do not share my politics or what I believe on social media but because of the way people are attacking others, I said no, we will not be bullied, every Nigerian has a right to make a choice, my choice might be different from yours but it doesn’t change the fact that we are both Nigerians.”
Speaking on qualities that make Tinubu a better candidate, Akintola said; “Asiwaju builds talent, he finds people who can do things, look at his cabinet when he was governor, those are the names we call now, Fashola, Osinbajo, Wale Edun, so many others. All those people were part of his cabinet. They all came on because Asiwaju brought them forward.”
Speaking further, the actress said Tinubu supports everyone.
She recalled how the former governor helped the Nollywood industry when Moji Olaiya died outside the country.
“When we lost Moji Olaiya and she wasn’t in the country, he brought her in, he paid for everything, so many actors have received help from him and he doesn’t know them from anywhere. He helps, he builds talent and I know that when we see the people he will work with, we will be excited about the changes we will see in this country. I know he has a vision for Nigeria and for me that is what is key.”
