WEMA Innovation Head, Ayodele, wins Excellence in Digital Leadership Award in Nairobi

The Digi-bank summit which is focused on emerging markets and featuring ideas and insights direct from the trenches, serves as an unrivaled platform for banking leaders to reimagine banking for the digital-first age.

Speaking on one of the Panel Session, Solomon Ayodele, Head of Innovation, WEMA Bank, he noted “ALAT was an idea that came out of an email from one of our colleague, who felt the time had come for the bank to evolve from being lender alone, into personalized and forward thinking organization.”

He further noted that the Bank utilizes a people-driven approach in galvanizing ideas, mobilizing brilliant thoughts and giving it the needed expression to thrive and see the light of the day.

In addition to the panel discussion on Bank 4.0: Building the Bank of the Future which took place alongside the International Journalist, Elliott Gotkine.

Solomon was also presented an Excellence in Leadership Award for his work in the Digital Technology space in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

According to Paras Ali, the Project Manager of the DigiBank Summit, he noted that ‘This award is in recognition of the outstanding work in successfully driving excellence in the field of digital banking and a celebration of all of our recipients achievements’
