Gunmen on motorcycles have shot dead a Nigerian judge, Nnaemeka Ugboma, in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.
Ugboma was the Chairman of Ejemekwuru Customary Court in the area before he was killed by gunmen on Thursday.
It was gathered that the jurist, a law graduate of 1991, was killed in his court while sitting.
His killers were said to have come with motorcycles, invaded the court and dragged him out and shot him dead before riding off.
There was pandemonium as lawyers and others fled the court.
A source told The Punch that the whole thing was confusing because nobody knew any reason while they killed the judge, who was from the Nnebukwu community in Oguta LGA here.
Chairman of the Owerri Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ugochukwu Allinor confirmed the killing of Ugboma.
He said the branch would communicate to the public on its actions in regards to the incident.
