Dr George Ugwu, Executive Secretary of Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ENS-PHCDA) has highlighted ways to avoid the usually debilitating cancer disease.

According to him, a moderate lifestyle, consistent physical exercise, avoiding alcohol and regular screening are key to keeping cancer at bay.

Other measures, he said, include personal cleanliness, good eating habits, ensuring balanced diets, and avoiding a sedentary lifestyle.

Dr Ugwu made this known on Saturday at an event to commemorate World Cancer Day in Enugu organised by ENS-PHCDA and G20+ Enugu Diaspora Support UK and Ireland.

The theme of the event was ‘Close the Care Gap’.
