Multi platinum selling artiste and Africa’s boyfriend, CKay dished out a breathtaking performance during his stage appearance at the closing ceremony of the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Algeria on Saturday.
CKay’s performance was electrifying as over 40,000 fans seated inside the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Baraki sang along with him.
The award-winning Nigerian singer thrilled the fans to hit trending songs ‘Love Nwantiti’ and ‘Emiliana’ with a sensational performance.
CKay was one of the scheduled to perform at the event, other performers were Algerian-French rapper L’Algérino, and Algerian-Canadian singer Zaho, who alongside CKay raised the temperature of the stadium with their performances that effortlessly linked the game with entertainment.
After the show on Saturday, CKay took to his Instagram page to express his gratitude to the fans and then uploaded a video clip of the stellar performance with the caption; “Viva L’Algérie! Merci beaucoup!”, which means “Long live Algeria! Thank you so much!”
CKay is the latest Afro-pop star to take over the international airwaves. He gained prominence thanks to his sleeper track “Love Nwantiti,” which found success on the popular social media platform TikTok, and has since shown absolutely no signs of slowing down.
This global success has culminated in the release of his debut album “Sad Romance” and the singer, producer and songwriter has received several awards and certifications globally.
