IGP orders redeployment of DIGs, AIGs, CPs, as Lagos, Ogun get new CPs

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba has ordered redeployment of Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs), Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) to departments, commands, and formations.

This is in line with his manpower development policy of placing round pegs in round holes.

A statement issued by Muyiwa Adejobi on Tuesday, said DIG Danmallam Mohammed, has been redeployed to the Department of Finance and Administration.

AIG Hafiz M. Inuwa has been posted to take over DIG Department of Training and Development, while AIG Aji A. Janga takes over as DIG Department of Research and Planning.

Likewise, AIG Adeleke A. Bode is now in charge as DIG Department of Operations; AIG Habu Sani Ahmadu has been posted as Force Secretary while AIG Shuaya’u Lafia Abdulyari assumes office as the AIG in charge of the Force Intelligence Bureau, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Also redeployed are CP Matthew Akinyosola to take over the duties of AIG Police Mobile Force, while CP Jonathan Towuru is now in charge as AIG Zone 6 Calabar.

Also, CP Sylvester A. Alabi will take over the role  of AIG Zone 2 Lagos; CP Akande Sikiru Kayode is now taking up the duties as AIG Zone 11 Osogbo, while CP Abimbola Adebola Shokoya will take over responsibilities as AIG Zone 17 Akure.

The IGP also announced the redeployment of CPs. CP Adebola A. Hamzat will now take over as CP Adamawa State; CP Emeka Frank Mba has been deployed to takeover as CP Ogun State.

Also, CP Suleiman A. Yusuf is now in charge as CP Taraba State, just as CP Idowu Owohunwa is now the new CP for Lagos State, while CP Faleye E.S. Olaleye is now in charge as CP Ebonyi State.

The IGP has, therefore, charged the newly posted officers to hit the ground running to ensure the mission, vision, and policy statements of his administration were effectively complied with in the areas of crime-fighting, public cooperation, and safety.

He also called for support and cooperation from members of the public to enable the newly posted senior officers to perform optimally on their mandate.
