President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja in the midst of a biting fuel scarcity.

The nation is on fire over naira scarcity as protests and riots had broken out in Ibadan and Abeokuta.

Today’s FEC meeting was attended by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, among others.

The meeting might not be unconnected with the naira crisis currently rocking the nation.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Naira redesign policy is having untold effect on Nigerians.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ordered the CBN to temporary suspend the policy till February 15 when the case brought before it by some governors is entertained.

The governors of Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara States have dragged the CBN to the apex court seeking an injunction to stop the apex bank from going ahead with its February 10 deadline for the swapping of old notes with new ones.
