The Court of Appeal sitting in Kano on Friday affirmed Sadiq Wali as the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the March 11 governorship election.
The Court declared Wali the governorship candidate while, it sacked Mohammed Abacha who has been parading himself as the PDP governorship candidate in Kano.
The appellate court set aside the judgment of a High Court that recognised Abacha as the PDP flag bearer in the state.
The court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise Wali as the valid governorship candidate of PDP in Kano.
The appellate court, in a unanimous judgement delivered by Justice Usman Musal, held that Abachi had no locus standi to challenge the primary that produced Wali since he never participated in the primary election.
