Here is Kayode’s story on how he met the two godsent ladies- Grace and Jackie, and how they have positively impacted his career and that of his brainchild, Scars Do Heal:

These two lovely ladies, Grace and Jackie, whose photos are here today have been my fantastic supporters and encouragers for a very long time. Well, I’ll come presently to why they are here today.

Last Wednesday, which was my day off at work, I went to The Word National Centre for the Written Word in South Shields, north east of England. To do what? To let them also know about my novel.

How did I know the place exists? Grace, who introduced me to the interpreting and translation profession when we newly arrived in the UK gave me a call as usual few months ago and told me about the library and asked me to go there.

Because of ‘Ka ra ka ta lojoojumo’ (hustling every day), I never had the time to go there until last week.

How did Jackie come in? One morning she gave me an email address and said she had emailed the person regarding my novel on how she could help with its promotion. She asked me to write her too.

Last Wednesday, I went to The Word Library. I introduced myself and my literary work. I was asked to leave a copy for the staff in charge of book review and purchase to go through. I concurred and left after I had explored the library and taken memorable pictures.

How did she know I visited The Word Library? No answer yet.

It was like a dream. I did what she asked me to do immediately. Pronto, I was included! That day, she sent another email to me with the programme of events!
